This week we received the sad news that our long time trustee Chandrakumare W. Gunawardana has passed away at the age of 84. We feel privileged that this respected former MP, former mayor of Matara and 60 years practicing lawyer put his trust in Hellabeem from the beginning. He had several high positions in his beloved Lions clubs and that is where we met him for the first time. Lately last year his health problems became so severe that he was not able to visit Hellabeem anymore and decided to resign as a trustee. This last year was hard for him and his caring family as he suffered a lot. He was a social feeling man supporting a deaf school in Matara as well. We sympathise with his wife and children with this sincere loss and wish them strength to overcome this hard time.
